I came across this plugin that is used on the popular forum software vBulletin. The developer’s claim and note are vague. Does the anonymity provided by Perfect Privacy OpenVPN connection survive the data collection attempts of this plugin or would it be susceptible?
Yes, both our OpenVPN and PPTP VPN connections as well as our High Anonymity HTTP Proxies will not be detected by this data collection attempt because the plugin reads the originating IP address provided by some HTTP proxies [such as HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR, HTTP_CLIENT_IP, ...] or web browsers [HTTP_FROM - actually designated for the mail address but not provided by most modern browsers] via the HTTP header.

VPN connections do not send these pieces of information and our HTTP proxies are configured to suppress these headers completely.
